veneers 单板

Veneers is a procedure done whereby thin layers of porcelain/ resin is cemented on your teeth to correct the colour, shape, size and sometimes angulation of teeth. Patients mainly request for veneers if they have gaps in between their teeth/ want to correct the colour of their teeth if teeth whitening does not help or if they find their teeth too small to fit their smile.

When should you consider veneers?

Heavily discoloured teeth

Change the shape, size, minor angulation of teeth

Heavily worn down teeth

Multiple failures of huge fillings

What is the difference between porcelain and resin veneers?

Porcelain veneers are more durable and does not discolour. We would usually expect porcelain veneers to last for at least 10 years or more.

Resin veneers are a cheaper alternative and usually lasts for 3-5 years. After which, they may start to appear worn and discolour

What is the process of veneers?

The procedure first involves the dentist taking a 3D scan of your teeth to do a digital smile design to which if the patient approves will proceed on to transfer this temporary trial smile into the patient’s mouth for both the dentist and patient to assess the smile and make any further adjustments

Once the final temporary trial smile is approved, the dentist may proceed to shape the patient’s teeth and fit in the final veneers (Resin/ Porcelain) up to 2 weeks later.

Cost of veneers:

The cost of veneers vary greatly depending on the number of veneers and type of veneers you are doing. Generalised porcelain veneers costs about twice that of composite veneers.
